Catalan wine tasting in Collabor
Collabor8 is not just a place for working in an office privately or with others, it’s also a place for hosting events. Some of the rooms can be rented for different types of events. For example hosting movie nights, meetings, smaller conferences, or food and drink tasting. We also held our first wine tasting event which was a huge success, so probably that wasn’t the last. It was a really special event, our colleagues, partners, and clients were able to try 3 Catalan wines. All of them were brought from Catalonia by the manager of this company. His origination was a good start to get to know the Catalan culture and each other better. Of course, all of this was accompanied by some special foods which were perfectly matched with the wines. There were cheese specialties, some vegetables, some ham, and last but not least the famous jamón serrano.
Here is a little insight into the world of the Catalan wines:
Bodega Gramona: Gessami 2023
It’s a white wine with a sweet and fresh fruity and floral character in the mouth with an unctuous texture and a dry finish. The aromas of jasmine, and roses and the sweetness of peach can easily be recognized by smelling.
Suggested complementary foods: soft cheeses, aperitif, blue fish, pasta, salads, spicy dishes
Bodega Marti Fabra: Masia Carreras Negre 2021
It’s a red wine with a long smooth friendly ride and a long and persistent finish. During tasting and smelling it we can recognize the aromas of black fruits, cocoa, and a surprising balsamic appears along with sweet spices.
Suggested complementary foods: red meats and animal game (not common farm animals, e.g.: deer, rabbit, boar, wild duck)
Acustic Celler: Brao 2020
It’s a concentrated red wine with a bright cherry color. In the mouth it shows a balance between power and finesse meanwhile on the nose it displays aromas of ripe fruit, and sweet spices with expression, complexity, and elegance.
